Is there a getting started tutorial? I managed to create a couple of projects before, but this new version is completely different and I am lost again.
I watched a 1.5 hour YouTube video of the creation of a Facebook bot (learning how to click a media button) It all made sense, but now that I have installed v8 and tried to do something, I can’t even figure out how to get started.
I have tried clicking the video icon and other buttons (manual edit?) but after the browser window opens I’m completely stuck!

Hi,
Totally understand. Version 8 is a major overhaul, so it makes sense that the old workflow doesn’t match up anymore.
We are currently working on a complete walkthrough and detailed tutorials for the new interface, and they will be released very soon.
Since you are building a Facebook bot, you should know that upcoming v8.3.0 includes a new advanced profiles system. This was added specifically to make managing accounts and working on sites like Facebook much more efficient and stable.
The new guides will be live shortly. In the meantime, if you get stuck on a specific step, let us know here and we can help you past it.
I completely agree with you, Nicolai. I’m sure Rtila could be really useful for me, but I just can’t seem to find a way to get started with it. There are hours of live recordings on YouTube, but it’s almost impossible to extract any useful information from them. The latest video on the newest version has no sound, so there are no explanations from a narrator. That means it’s not very helpful to me either.
I bet Rtila would perform much better in the market if it weren’t aimed solely at experienced users, but also targeted people who are willing to get to grips with the technical side of things but don’t yet know much about such tools specifically.
All the new specific, detailed features being added to the versions are only useful to those who are already proficient with them. For people who haven’t even managed to get off to a decent start, the time and effort put into these new features would be much better spent on publishing at least a short basic tutorial covering the key steps, one or two example applications, the most common pitfalls, and so on.
At the moment, Rtila feels to me as if I have a Mac Studio, but no keyboard, no trackpad and no monitor. A very powerful machine, but not particularly useful without input tools and an overview of what’s happening.

Thanks for the honest feedback, and I completely get where you’re coming from. The Mac Studio analogy hits the nail on the head. It’s tough when the power is there but the manual is missing.
We hear you loud and clear. We’ve been working with very limited hands, but our goal is to make RTILA seamless for both beginners and power users. We are actually preparing a deep walkthrough and short, practical tutorials based on real use cases on popular sites right now.
We just want to roll out one major UI/UX update first, specifically for the main projects list and triggers (screenshots attached), so that the new guides show the final, polished interface instead of making you relearn it.
Alongside this, we’ve finally stabilized the builds across all platforms. We tracked down those recent Mac launch bugs, and running xattr -cr ~/Downloads/RTILA.app in the terminal fixes it instantly for anyone having trouble. We’re also modernizing our template market for one-click imports on major sites and just added advanced stealth profiles to make handling logged-in sites way easier.
The new onboarding content is coming very soon, right after this UI refactor drops. Thanks for your patience and for keeping us on track.

Great replies all around. I’m looking forward to the walkthrough.
I am not actually trying to make a Facebook bot, I just mentioned that the YouTube video I watched dealt with that.
I am actually just trying to make anything.
I decided to start learning by trying to make a bot that grabbed the temperature everyday and saved it to google sheet (this is the project I do whenever I try to learn a new automation platform)
but I couldn’t even grab the temperature, and if I could, I have no idea how to save the data to a google sheet or even download it.
In case it’s useful, I recorded a screen recording of my attempt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6dhppaYSdY with what I was thinking.
I recorded this before these replies came in. I recommend watching it at 3X speed as I’m a slow talker
Thanks!

Thank you very much for the video Nicolai. I have attached a quick screen recording to show you where to go, but please wait until we publish v8.3.0. After that, I will create a complete video showing all the steps, from selecting the data to getting it directly into Google Sheets.
